fuelie600 05-15-2005 06:06 AM

Every time I join a new forum I'm too lazy to think up a new nickname. (And I'm too stupid to remember a bunch of different names...)

I used the name I used on a snowmobile forum. Fuelie600 was from my sled. 600cc EFI engine.

beamonk 05-15-2005 06:23 AM

My high school nickname in Mississippi was Brassmonkey, as my last name is Brasfield. This came from some nasty liqueur my friend stole from his Dad's cabinet. (Brassmonkey) This has stuck all of these many years and has derived many variants such as Monkey, Monk, monkey mo flunkey, speiluneky, mojunkie, monkeymoflunkeyspeilwhatchacallyojunkie, junk, flunk, monkey, In fact, on one strange night my strange friends were waiting for me to come in town and made a list of about five hundred derivatives. It was too funny. I was at a Stones concert a few years back with about 5 of my old mates when Mick burst into Monkeyman, I thought I was gonna be killed, they went wild, rather reminiscent of the Planet of the Apes movie.
Anyway, when I signed up for AOL, Brassmonkey was taken, Bmonk was gone, so it properly should be pronounced "BeeMonk" so I put the AuntBea spelling on it to make people wonder. All this has been pretty interesting as Brassmonkey is a Mississippi nickname and Alabama friends have always had other monikers for me. Then they got" Be a monk" and started with that. When the Mississippi crowd hears "Be a monk" from the Alabama friends, they say, hell no, he's a monkey mo flunkie spei lunkie mo junkie, etc ! I then sit there like a monk absorbing it all. I guess I should be proud to have such a crazy group of friends, or I should be really worried!

Well some look at it two ways i love to scuba dive, and some co workers look at it in a diff light. aka goin down.

twin plugged targa 05-15-2005 06:30 AM

Well mine was 86 ragtop- no I dont wear a wig!
The car (86 Cabrilet) was a lot of trouble with multiple breakdowns in quick succession- I almost gave up on Porsches. Instead I just sold the old car after fixing all of the faults and sinking a lot of cash into it. A short break from Porsches and a friend pushed his recently finished project on me, which was a twin plugged targa ('71T targa), so I changed my name.

When originally signing into this site- my 1st Bulletin Board- I though it wise to remain anonymous, for legal reasons etc (bragging about speeding etc).
But now realise that if anyone wants to find you/prosecute you, the internet is a two way mirror, plus I really have nothing to hide,

zotman72 05-15-2005 06:38 AM

Well, as a hack computer programmer for nearly 30 years. My primary junk variable is "zot." During a code review many years ago, some anal, self important dweeb wanted to know who was using/writing these non-standard "zot" variables. So I stepped up and admitted I was the "zotman." And the 72, well that is my first 911's birthyear. You had to ask... HTH.

Simple for me. It's my name!

Avery 05-15-2005 07:44 AM

Avery is my beautiful daughter.

asphaltgambler 05-15-2005 08:29 AM

It's the name of my pro-street drag bike. I like to street race and everytime I climb on it's a gamble as to whether it's gonna start, run, stop, win, crash, and come back in one piece.

Kinda like life.

1969 was the first year for the E designation. I also figured it was "an oldy but a goody"

Paul K 05-15-2005 09:25 AM

This was the first forum I registered on, and I didn't know any better. Still searching for the perfect avatar...

Cheers!

Paul.

Edit: Found it! That's my smokin' hot wife...in a Porsche shirt to boot!

Nine9six 05-15-2005 10:36 AM

Its the designator of my "other passion" per my vehicle list...Not to be confused with the model Porsche.

tt_targa 05-15-2005 11:37 AM

I have a targa that I have Time Trialed a couple of times.

Someone who time trials a targa isn't really serious about it and probably not very good. Coupes are the way to go for time trial.

This said something about me

I fly a jet for a living and it cruises at about 450 knots (which is about 520 mph), hence 450 knot office.

jester911 05-15-2005 12:21 PM

Jester911 has a couple meanings that both seem a little lame now. Many years ago when I first started computing the movie topgun came out. I didn't really like viper so I picked Jester since it was close to my name Jerry.

That was also when I used to drink so I thought I was funny.
:D

Anyway I have always used Jester as my screen name and when I came to this board it became what it is now.

Jeff Alton 05-15-2005 01:58 PM

When I signed up I was the branch Chariman for Vancouver area control center. CATCA is the Canadian AirTraffic Controllers Association. That was taking all my time then so it seemed natural. Not so sure now.....

bigrubberjeep 05-15-2005 02:01 PM

What else would it mean besides the obvious?

I have a Jeep with big rubber tires. Duh!

Now if this was a site full of ladies, I might say different.

Drago 05-15-2005 02:45 PM

Ivan Drago was the big Russian boxer playing opposite Sylvester Stallone in Rocky 4.

Back in the day I used to lift a lot of weights and had a similar hair cut. Name stuck.
