911 SC fog light problem
I have a MY 1981 ROW 911 SC with factory installed fog lights - front and rear.
I just realized that itīs fog lights are not working correctly = If I choose the hight beam the fog lights turn on and if I choose the low beam the fog lights go off, while it should be vice versa. Otherwise the rest of the car is working OK. What could be the cause for above and how could I have the fog lights work normally ![]() |

Did they ever work "properly"?
Possibly that's the way ROW cars were wired. The way car lights work in the U.S. is often different than everywhere else. U.S. laws dictate just about every aspect of a car.

Fog lights
If you look at the top of fuse#7 (counting from the front of the car) you should see a white power wire and a smaller grey wire. The grey wire is the fog light relay activation wire, the one that closes the switch in the relay. Move the grey wire to the top of fuse # 5 where a yellow wire is attached and the fogs will work with the low beams. Or, if you prefer, find a fuse that has power when the ignition is on and you will be able to use the fogs with either low or high beams. Note, the grey wire is usually attached at the top (in) side of the fuse but a previous owner could have moved it to the bottom (fused) side. Good luck!
