Engine installed, but I am waiting on one oil line before we can start it up maybe Monday or Tuesday next week.

In the mean time it finally has a normal stance again!

Looking at the shape of the bolsters, I'd say late 80s or early 90s, though I don't think they're sports - the bolsters don't seem deep enough. A 3/4 or profile shot would show them more clearly. I wish mine had plaid like that; all I've got is the Porsche cloth inserts, so really not horrible, and still a bit different.

And I second the opinion that the weight penalty is so worth using these seats. You NEED to put those in!

Great build BTW. I'm paying attention as one of these transplants might be coming my way... :)

Naaah, he's probably safe. It doesn't have turbo tail, probably too many miles, and maybe some imperfections in the paint on the front bumper. The Euro tail lights surely don't help, either...

So almost all is well, I finally got the new oil line in and the car ready to start today, but there has been a slight problem with the wiring harness I got from Patrick Motorsports. I called Patrick but they haven't been able to help other than tell me to check the wiring (NO *****!) anyway there are two plugs on the engine harness one is a 10 pin plug the other is a
14 pin plug. the 10 pin plug goes to the engine harness for the dme.
the 14 pin plug goes to the 83 harness that was already there. when I pull the
14 pin plug the fuel pump stops running. I searched and read that I might have to move
pins in the 14 pin plug so everything will talk correctly however I have not
been able to find EXACT info on what pins to move. The fuel pump always runs as soon as I connect the battery. the only time it I can get it to stop is if I unplug the 14 pin plug at the motor. Even if i pull the fuse and wires from the fuse panel. ???????????????

Has anyone else done this swap and run into this issue? If so do you remember which pins to move?

THANKS!!!

Thank you!!! We finally got everything sorted with the wiring and I was able to drive it around the block today before it started to rain. Back into the shop to button up a couple of items and do a final check.

I am planning on having the car at the Porsche Breakfast Club meeting this Saturday May 26th. There is supposed to be a breakfast then back roads drive to Colorado Springs for some lunch. If anyone local is interested in joining

I put about 200 miles on it last Saturday during the Porsche breakfast meet. Of course I forgot to take any pictures of it as soon as the GT2 RS, GT3 RS, and Cayman R Pulled into the lot.

I did have some concern with the oil temp gauge reading just past the 3/4 mark on some of the drive so I am waiting for my cooler fan from Elephant racing to arrive before I put to many miles on under the sun. I did take engine temp readings at the cooler, oil tank, and heads all were close to 196

The fuel pump is also acting up so I am going to get a new one put in this week.

Hope to be back on the road next Saturday.
