Max a 915/06 Box can handle??
I have a 76 Carrera 3.0 (200hp) mated to a 915/06 box.
So it's a mag box with 7:31 I am looking to install an LSD and ideally like to modify to a 3.2 with 98mm pistons. The car is used for time trials and track days. It gets plenty of track time and sees the redline a bit, but I don't do 4000rpm clutch drops (ever). Will this gearbox cope? What mod's do I need to do to make it cope (or am I dreaming). (Steve - we have corresponded off line - I hope you can chime in now I have the box type?) Last edited by kiwi 911; 05-06-2012 at 10:48 PM.. |

No worries, mate.
That transmission is more than strong enough for such duty. If you really want to make it last, install a one-piece bearing retaining plate and an oil cooler, returning the cooled oil over the C&P gears.
