What do you think of this one?

Looking to buy my 1st 911. Before I drive 3 hours to go look I was hoping to get some insight and see hwat more experienced eyes have to say. I know abut the PPI and have a book on used Porsches with a checklist to use once I get there.

See anything obviously wrong with the pictures? Thanks for your help - I have been lurking for about 3 months so far. Learned alot but not enough. Car is in Tennessee

Crap! I rushed to do this and left the office without checking the post. Here is the link

Seems a bit steep for:
No history
Cookie cutter wheels
Repainted (what happened?)
Non working A/C
Non working odometer
Did they forget to close the trunk?

And I don't like that tail on a targa.

Other than that, it looks nice in the pics.

I agree with theFOnz. A little steep for the car. The non working odomter, cookie cutters, & Targa would be negatives for me.

Driver's side seat torn open. Left door doesn't seem to fit. Both doors painted, probably off the car. Neither is "blacked-out" around the interior door panel so you can't see body color from inside with the doors closed. Car does not have Carrera timing chain tensioner upgrade. That A/C, well, plan on spending about $3K more than what a re-charge might cost. Is the shift lever too short? The speedo/odo (?) stopped working? How convenient. Photos seem to be taken from favored angles. No pictures of the trunk, rear seat area, headliner, or bottom of car make it impossible to offer more opinions.

"76,000 miles on speedometer"

Car has 275k miles on it, but we found a nice broken speedometer with only 76k on it! It is your lucky day!

On first inspection it looks nice, personally, I like the targas. But after a longer look, it appears to have been resprayed, curious why. I would also bring a strong magnet covered in duct-tape to check for filler...you can also knock on the body work to hear for that as well. Also, did you notice the position of the steering wheel? Look at the direction of the wheels and the steering wheel, the position seems off to me. Not that is difficult to change, but why is it like that?

I would get leak down numbers on this, especially given the odo doesn't work. Also, I agree, doesn't look like th drivers door shuts properly. I would check why the hood was open as well. The cookie cutter wheels don't really work on that model car. Also, does it appear that the back end of the targa top is coming up somewhat? I would check for any musty moldy smell, check for dampness and possible water leakage.

Good luck!

"This is a very clean 911 with factory ac ( ac will need a recharge )"
As Peter Zimm already pointed out the A/C is shot...
And that is why these cars are all $20K!
