There aren't enough curse words.
Completely my fault. Pulling out of the driveway, and didn't bother to look back at the concrete overhang at the end of the driveway. Thought I had plenty of room.
I'm sick with regret. And don't even know where to start. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1336960535.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1336960553.jpg This was at the end of LITERALLY the first day in months I got a chance to spend a day with the car, fixing a million things that needed to be fixed. I was just going to run it around the block since I haven't even driven it since I've moved to San Diego. I've got temporary wheels on it with studded snow tires, as my wheels are being built at the moment. Now, apparently, I have bigger fish to fry. Ugh. |
Sorry to see that!!
A good body shop should be able to repair that, though. |
Ugh. Sorry for your frustration.
|
Dude that is nothing compared to where you have come from with that car. It will be a distant memory in no time. Put one of those oops stickers on it and wear it like a badge of honor for a while. Then when you fix it fix a few of those other little things that have been nagging you about the original paint job (assuming there are some) and it will be literally better than new. An awesome car one of my favorites on the bbs.

Thanks guys. Any recommendations of a body shop in SD, I'll take 'em.

OMG, I just shed a tear, I feel for you Brother,!
|
Sux man...truly sorry for you. Sometimes ***** happens.

Duude, sorry to see that but stuff happens. My kid was practicing spinning a revolver by my SC and I mentioned to him it will hit my car if it got away. Not even a minute later, clonk!
|
Just work with the truth a bit and it will be fine "I was cornering at max speed when I misjudged the apex by 6 inches and kissed the concrete wall on the exit"
Its all in the telling. |

Good luck with it. Anthony. |
At least you stepped up an owned it without blaming anyone else. A decent body guy will have it sorted in no time...

Hi Michael!
I realize that you are sick with this - especially this time of year - the "driving" season. Is the car with you in Sandyeggo or still in Colorado? Someone here should be able to give you a shop recommendation based on where the car is currently located. This really isn't too bad of a repair. The section bent is single layer metal. A good body man can fix it. It will take a little shrinking but a GOOD bodyman will have that straightened out in little time. And take a sledge to the damn overhang. Good therapy. angela |
Better to drive the car and risk the dings rather than not drive the car...
+1 to sledgehammer and concrete. |
The ones you do yourself are the most maddening. I think the worst of it is having to admit what a complete dumb@$$ you were to have done it in the first place. Once you resign yourself to the fact that you are merely human, it becomes a LOT easier to live with until it gets fixed.
Heck, I'd drive that thing all spring and summer, then in the fall give it to your body guy, and put it away fixed. That way, you get to drive it with the knowledge that next year at this time, nobody will be the wiser that you made this one little mistake. I know exactly the sick feeling you had/have. It will pass in time, I promise. |
If you need some help with those swear words, I have become quite crafty at streaming them all together into one foul sentence. Sux , sorry to see that, but you know what they say, sheet happens, don't beat yourself up. That looks like a beautiful car. You'll get it fixed

I know the feeling
This just happened to me a couple of weeks ago.... Her first dent.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1337011175.jpg It made me sick. :( You have my condolences. Same deal BTW, nobody to blame but myself. If you're willing to see a bright side, at least it's proof that she isn't a garage queen. They don't get dents sitting around under car covers! I feel your pain. -Dan |
