Both these and the wevo items are $85, though it appears that the Rebel racing items might be on sale on their website for $65...

How do these compare to the Wevo units?

Porsche Crest

Not sure about the Wevo units . The Rebel Racing products mounts are a thing of beauty & function . I was expecting a lot more noise/ vibration. But was pleasantly surprised . Very little extra noise , But more of a positive shift feel & the car just seems tighter overall. And the fact that they are on sale for $ 69 on the Rebel Racing web site & on E-bay also is a plus . Go get em Replace those old torn rubber mounts with the Good stuff

Probably just a Wevo part in grey ano. Much like how GPR sells 19mm Grey ano sway bars made for them by Tarett.

Frankly, I'd rather have the Wevo name on my car.

i don't think they are re-branded Wevo's.. my Wevo's (albiet they are at least 6 years old) are solid AL, no bushings (at least thats what the blue in these pictures would seem to be) at all, no flex.

They are not rebranded Wevo units, but they are pretty much the same thing, just made locally. I think he used a polyurethane with a different durometer rating though. There's not much you can do to differentiate a simple engine mount short of the magnetorhelogical ones Porsche is now putting out there.

Wevo innovated with this design, and thereby benefited the Porsche community with something new.

It's disappointing to see effort like this just to clone product and siphon sales. Instead, why not put the effort into developing an actual new product. That way everyone benefits.

Rebel Racing has lots of innovations. And it is very common for companies to simply re-badge products, as you know. I don't see you mention Wevo on the rear anti-sway bar mounts you sell or the Tarett name on the anti-sway bars. At least he is making them himself.

How would you innovate an engine mount like this Chuck? These are pretty basic parts. Not really the big bits where Clint works his magic. Things like bushings.

I can't speak for Chuck, but I would have the bolts half an inch forward on both the engine and trans mounts (915 and later). This is the same approach WEVO used on the camberking-- need to get the shock shafts closer together, so use a smaller diameter monoball to create clearance within the stock form factor.

You mean like the 935 Spring plates you sell that copy Cary Eisenlohr's work?

Do you mean to move the engine forward? Would there be clearance between the transmission and the rear seat hump? CVs would also run at greater static angularity but that is no big deal.

I think I will sell the new Wevo mounts (never used) that I had been saving and get Rebel Racing so my car is nice and matched with Rebel racing products. I didn't realize they had these mounts.
I personally really like their product and direct service and nice attitude on the phone. I'm totally up for a different type of durimeter for the bushings... Kind of like how you change bushings on a skateboard truck to get that perfect feel.\

Link to the on sale mounts---> http://www.rebelracingproducts.com/EngineRelated.html

My hard earned money is with Rebel racing

Its funny some companies will rebrand items and totally call them something else and then deny what the product really is, while providing an inferior product and talk bad about other people trying to improve an item
