Early 911 Decal (size) question?

I purchased the early engine liter rear glass decal for my SC 3.0 from our host, It is BIG in size, I was expecting a small sticker. Was this the correct size Porsche placed on the early 911 2.2's I believe? I wanna say the decal I got is around 3"X3" give or take. TIA!

My 3.0L 79 SC did not come with that sticker, and I bought it new. Maybe it would damage the rear window heating tracks?

As I recall..the round decals were either on the front windshield, passenger side or the passenger side rear quarter glass.

On my 73.5 2.4 coupe it was on the right rear quarter glass, new. I think (it has been a long time)the Targa had it on the lower right side windshield, same year. I don't think the Targa ever had them on the rear glass.

Yup, SC's did not have these decals. Only on earlier 911's. It's possible it might interfere with the window heating element. I hardly ever use the rear window defrost, so not an issue for me.

No, the reproductions are larger, I have a reproduction on my '71 and an un mounted original.

If you like it smaller, how about taking the above image, mask around the edges in any suitabel photo editing program, print it on transparent foil, use another double sticking tarnsparent foil from an art supply store, and use it to atach to the glass spot of your choice. I have done that years ago with an ordinary ink jet printer, works perfectly!

The actual size compared to the originals is not an issue. Being the fact that these are not correct for SC's anyways. I was just surprised how big it look when I took out of the envelope from Pelican and wanted to make sure that was the intended size, repo or not. And funny enough after all the Porsche events I've been to, I couldn't remember seeing one in person. On line in pictures the ones I've seen affixed to rear windows look small and not as big as my repo decal. Cheers!

The placement on 2.2 cars was at the bottom center of the rear glass. Targa or coupe.

This brings back a lot of memories !
I always liked those 2,0 2,2 etc decals on the back windows of the 911 back in the day. And also the "Marken Weltmeister" decals.
Those days are long gone. Most of the people buying new Porsches these days probably have no idea of what "Marken Weltmeister" means.
