Help on 3.2L conversion issue
I think I have seen the answer to my problem before but after searching for some time I have not been able to locate it so here is the issue/question.
I have a 3.2 L in a 73 chassis. All is set up and works well. The issue is that the parking brake light flashes on and off, even thought the park brake is disengaged. It is not a switch issue (as i understand it). I have read before that with this conversion a resistor is required in the park brake lamp circuit to eliminate this flashing condition. Can any body point me in the right direction on this or am I way out in left field? What resistance is needed and where does it go in the circuit? |

I'm not sure about the resistor, but on my '89 it had the brake pad sensors that IIRC would flash or light the brake light if they engaged. I disconnected them years ago, but now I can't remember if I had to connect the wires or not to make it not light.
Otherwise I don't see how the brake light is affected by your 3.2 conversion -- did you bring over the entire wiring harness? Chuck.H '89 TurboLookTarga, 335k miles |
