Vent window latch pivot seal

71 911 Targa:

On the drivers side of my car when I got it, the latch was in the glove box. I ordered a new roll pin and put it in. The pivot that goes through the vent window glass used to have some kind of seal or spring washer under it on the outside. When the window is open, there is no pressure on the roll pin because of the missing washer or seal. The pin will vibrate out. Has any one come up with a solution as the part is NLA.

I send an exploded picture of vent window latch for SWB which I expect to be the essentially same as yours. The wave washer is not what retains the cross pin, it is the fit of the cross pin in the hole. The pin is 2mm in diameter and is solid with serrations at one end for creating a tight fit in the hole in your handle. I recommend replacing the solid pin with a spring pin; I send a link to McMaster Carr which sells a bag of 25 stainless steel 2mm x 14mm long pins.

McMaster-Carr

Here is the exploded view:

Thanks, the dowel pin I bought from Pelican is a spring pin. I'm missing the part between spring washer and the latch handle with the hex head and spring on it. I'm thinking that's part of my problem too. Thanks for the picture!
