16 Inch Custom Fuchs .... Who makes them???
So I'm looking at Lindsey Racing P2 17in Fuchs for my RSR build. I have all the core wheels (16x6) plus 2 extra 16x7 Fuchs. I like the look of the 17 and I know Mike makes great wheels. Is there anyone that makes custom 16x11 or 16x9 out there? I don't want 3 piece bolt together wheels. Looking for what Lindsey makes but in a 16inch size. I feel it would look more authentic for the money that's getting dumped into the car.
I have 17in knock off on my cobra. Its night and day when a buddy parks his cobra with 15in knock off with billboards next to me. I don' t want to have that stick out in the wrong way .I cant run 15 due to brakes and 16 have enough side wall that I want. Thanks guys! |

I'm pretty sure tru design makes wide 16s. Stratton and Harvey weidmen as well. Lindsey might as well if you ask, I don't think it would would be much different than 17s. One thing to consider though, there are almost no tires available for wide 16s. Its bad enough even finding them for 7s and 9s.

Yeah, I asked Mike if they could make 16's a while back. I don't remember the response but I don't think it was possible or if he wanted to. Ill have to ask again. I found Eric Vaughn out in CA. I need to call as they don't have email. His wheels looked very promising. Thanks for the lead on Stratton & Harvey. Any idea on what they run $$$? I have seen the P7 corsa classics are being re-produced now. They have 16 up to 315mm tires ... What I want to run.

Tru Design can definitely get the 16 inch barrels. I had some 16's made up several years ago. Mine were more conservative than your application. I just had an inch added to the inside of some 16x6's. I'd call Jim ( 800-621-6436) and discuss your specs.

GOOD 16 inch tires are mostly NLA except for Bridgestone in 245/45s.....wider yet will be impossible. Why don't you go with Rota Fox in 17s?

I'm going for those P7s as well.
265/45/16 Kumho's are up for sale: FS: Kumho Ecsta XS The 245s I have on my 10x16s for test fitting into flares are downright small. ![]()

Braid makes strong, beautiful 16x11" replica
fuchs wheels. I think pelican parts carries them. That would be the best solution. No need to use old centers.

If I run 17's then I will end up with Mike Lindsey ... Im still holding out hope for a wide set of 16's. I was at C&C a few weeks ago and I saw a ST running custom 16s. It looked good. 17's look great .. but the 16's on an RSR just look more right, IMHO. I was going until I see that the P7's should be on the market soon and they can be ordered in the 315 size. Im still looking to see how or how not affordable they will be.
Shaun ... any idea if the corsa's can be bought in the US yet??? |

I suggest you skip the 16" wheels and go for 17" wheels. As mentioned previously wide 16" street tires are few and far between.
For something a little different I'd consider getting the wheels made with Jongbloed shells. Like this: ![]() ![]() ![]() The wheels are 11x17 and 9x17. The rear has a 4.5 back half and a 6.5 front half for the deep barrel look. The fronts are 5 inch back half and a 4 inch front. They fuch center was finished by Al Reed in a satin RSR finish. The Halves were polished and clear anodized. They are a very light wheel set. The tires are 275/40 x 17 and fronts are 235/40 x 17 ( I think, I will have to check). Info here. |

Thanks guys. Still on the fence. Got and email from tru design with a very fair quote for 16s. If the Rebel Racing brakes fit 16s and P7s corsa work out that with width and price I will do 16s. If someone has 17s on a 911 in the area (dc metro baltimore) I would love to see them in person. I'm going to order the brakes and test fit my 16s with spacers to get the fit before I order the custom wheels first. RSR flares are on the body and I can't see the tires at all.

Tru Design 17x8 and 17x9.5, no spacers. The donor wheels were 16x7 Fuchs.
