Wur '80 sc

The car has rough idle, both cold and hot, with no power on accelleration with backfire/popping if too much pedal is used. The wur is only 10 ohms.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

Was running fine so it couldn't be plug wires. I had considered a vacuum leak but if it was would the rpm still drop when removing the oil filler cap?

Thanks for the responses.

David,

Have you checked your fuel pressures (control and system)? If the RPM drops 200 or more after you removed the oil cap, it's an indication that you didn't have a significant air/vacuum leak to effect fuel mixture. Have you checked your ignition timing and spark? Keep us posted.

Tony

The fuel filter is about 2 years old but might have only had 2 or 3 tanks of gas through it. I have an extra so I'll give it a try.

I just went through this and found the leaks by hooking up a clean shop vac in reverse to the intake and taped it up. Then I sprayed soapy water on everything! You will be blown away at how many leaks you may have!!
