Odometer issue

While out driving yesterday I noticed that my odometer had jumped from 130K to being stuck between 230K and 330K on the far left. Everything still works, odometer, trip meter and the speedo still shows about 10 mph fast at speed as it always had.
I think this is one of those jobs best left to people with expertise but what I was wondering was if anyone had successfully fixed their own odometer.
Any insight into this is appreciated.
Thanks,
Ken

Lot's of threads on the subject, I would suggest a search.

The biggest issue is getting the bezel off w/o boogering it up. Most tend to send them out to NH or PA Speedometer, both in CA and specialize in early Porsche.

Yeap,..depends on your expertise/knowledge in rebuilding the board,...calibrating it (speed) and freshening up the glass or whatever may be needed......something I've done twice-quite successfully,....BUT,..in the end, mine will go out to NHW for rework,...period. I hate dealing with that bezil ring without the proper tool,..just me,...( not to be dramatic,...).

I'm with JoeBob,...deal with the pros....

Best,

Doyle

Before posting I did search and read many posts but did not find much on a detailed solution. I have contacted Hartmut at NH Speedo and plan on shipping this out after the driving season. I was just wondering if anyone out there had fixed this themselves and what it entailed.
Thanks to Doyle for the post, the special tool requirement was all I needed to read to let things be. I wouldn't want to get into the job and find out that I needed a specialty tool, that is the kind of info I was hoping to find out before tackling this task.
Thanks,
Ken
