Installing WEVO shifter tomorrow
Installing my new WEVO all black standard shifter tomorrow for my 915 tranny. Does anyone have any notes on their install that I should consider while doing the job or is following the instructions from WEVO pretty straightforward? Any advance tips would be greatly appreciated.

Follow the instructions, very straight forward. Take the time to really clean up your old shifter.

Removing the allen set screw that holds the cup bushing elbow is required to change the shifter tube bushing. Its tight. You might find it easiest to get in there by modifying an Allen key by shortening the short leg of the "L".
Have some synthetic grease on hand for those bushings. You'll love the shifter.

abides.

The large jam nut is most easily loosened while the shifter is still installed in the car.

Also, it's highly recommended to upgrade the coupler to the Wevo unit, while you're in there....greatly improves shifting effort and smoothness IMHO! |

Watch out with the springs. They are tightly wound and you want to be careful releasing them.

How did you release the springs? A vice, c clamp or just hold it down and carefully release?

I put on safety glasses, held the plate down with work gloves on and slowly loosened the nuts....no probs!

shifter
Another satisfied customer. Install went without any issues. I have had it all apart before so everything was clean and easy to get off. Shifter is amazing, maybe a little stiff right now but I am sure that will break in. Finds every gear very easily. Thanks WEVO and fellow Pelicans. Next up, need to get WOT on my throttle linkage.
