Paris-Rhone Alternator part needed. help please?

Greetings- Not sure what the part is called, but it is the small black plastic cup (inch or so diameter) that snaps into the rear of the alternator housing and fits over the shaft bearing to protect it. This plastic part also acts as a shim or spacer for the bearing. Old age (1978 911SC), heat, and whatever else , have caused the old part to break into a few very brittle pieces. Too brittle to think about expoxying the part back together. Any idea where I could purchase this little plastic part, new or even used? Thanks so much, Paul

This may help you along. Looks like you will need to know your bearing size.
Below are a couple of examples I found.

Bearing Bushing (Plastic) - 32mm ID x 35mm OD x 15mm L (13165, 14039, 14308)
Bearing Cap (Tolerance Ring) - Eagle, Puegoet, Porsche, Renault, Volvo
NOTE: Used with 6201 Bearing
NOTE: Used with Paris Rhone A13N & A14N IR/EF Type Alts

Here's the wagner part referenced from the cap in the post above.

Thanks very much!

It seems that my bearing has approximately the same dimensions (32mm x 35mm) . Would an Auto parts store be able to source it with the Wagner "W014-01" part number , or is there more info that I would need to relate? Thanks again, Paul

Alt part..........

I've got a bad P/R alternator in my shop. I'll dig it out and see if it has the part you need. If so, I'll send it along.

That would be fantastic!, Fred......

Thanks very much.. I just came back from the auto parts store empty handed. I printed out clarkd's post and gave those numbers to the parts guy. He could not find it. The search is on. Thanks again, Paul

You are a winnah!

Got it, I think. The one that I have measures 15mm tall, 32mm inside and about 35mm at the little edge where the tab is located. Measured up on the body at the top or closed end it is about 34mm. If you will send me your mailing address I will drop it in the mail tomorrow. Hope it works for you!

YOU are the MAN! Fred!!!!

That's fantastic news!! You can reach me at : Paul Lefebvre, 8 Lookoff Rd., Cranston, R.I., 02905-04029. I'd be glad to pick up the cost of postage. If you're ever up North, here in the Providence/Boston area, please contact me, as I'd like to take you out to dinner for your generosity. Or, if I'm ever back in the "Deep South" (I used to live in New Orleans, LA in the early eighties), I could look you up. I love this website, great people helping others. Got to love it! Thanks again, Paul
