Front strut rubber
Not sure what its called, but where the front struts come through the inner wings and bolt on, there is a rubber 'something' around it, mine have totally perished... What do they do and can i get replacements ?
911 3.2 1989 Thanks

If you mean the black caulk stuff that keeps water out, I cleaned all mine off when I went with the Elephant racing adjustable camber plates. I got some plumbers putty from Home Depot (not sure the UK equivalent) which I like because it doesn't harden and removes easily. Seems to work, we get some serious downpours here in Florida.

Agreed the black substance used as a sealant for the strut tops is a pesky material to deal with. It's a real pain when you need to do an alignment and you must chip the chunks away.
A heat gun is very effective at softening the black crud to allow easier removal. Then clean up the residue with an adhesive remover that is safe on painted surfaces. I have had great results with 3M General Purpose Adhesive Remover. Caution, use protective gloves. The 3M solvent is nasty stuff on your skin. I have had good results using a non-hardening material similar to what Chuck mentioned. A material commonly used for sealing windows in your home is called "rope caulk." It's a white material that is similar to modeling clay and you can press it into the voids around the strut top to keep water out of the front trunk area. It's a bit more tacky than plumber's putty and stays in place quite well.

If it is the rubber camber plate bushings pelican #ERMP-2290001 as in post #3 they are from
elephant racing and are very nice. Just installed a set in my 70 and plan to do the same for the 88. Simple DIY project. Get rid of the old rubber.
