Hard to shift into Reverse and First

Lately, I have noticed that when I shift into first or reverse (usually when I am backing out of the garage or moving it into first ) that the gear shift feels like it does not want to go the rest of the way in (and its not in the gear I selected).

I will usually pull it back to neutral and then try again or pull it into another gear (2nd) and then it will go into 1st or reverse.

Any ideas? 89 Carrera Coupe

Have you bled the clutch master & slave lately?? If not, maybe a change of fluid & a good bleeding are in order.

If not, there may be a bigger problem related to clutch and/or pressure plate.

My 1 cent.

I have not bled the clutch and slave. Is this a DIY project?

Clutch is about 5 years old with maybe 20k miles on it. I hope its not a bigger problem!
