Question 930 wheel swap

Is there a good quality alternative to the 9 and 11 by 15" original wheels? Without spacers and a 16" size. I have seen a few broken spacers and would like to keep original studs and reveal in fender wells. Thanks steve

930s never came with 9&11x15 wheels, only the RSR.

The early 930s had smaller 15s, later ones had 16s, all had spacers. If you have a 930 then you must use spacers due to the long stud length, or switch them out.
If not you'll need to find wheels that are wide enough to fill out the fender well (deep dish).
Lots of aftermarket wheels out there.

Cool

1977 was the first year for the 16in wheels to be used on a 930. You could mount 15 in wheels on a 77 930 however. In '78 the brake caliper was enlarged and required the use of a 16 in wheel for clearance. The 1976 930's came with 15 in wheels.

Good luck,
David Duffield

One way is to have custom wheels made. I had 17's made with real Fuchs centers. No spacers needed, since they were built to fit.

Just remembered - there was a fella some time back selling a set of aftermarket Fuchs in a custom 16" platform with new tires for a 930.
Check out the archives. These were on the board for some time.

You need wheels for a widebody or 930?
