Porsche Crest PMO's: ITBs w/ EFI vs. Carbs

I'm contemplating a 3.2 & 915 swap on my car ('69 912 w/ 2.0 911E transplant). I originally wanted to do PMO carbs, but the more I read about ITB's w/ EFI, the more I like the idea of having the clean old school velocity stack look, but with the added benefits of fuel injection (cold start, tuning issues, fuel efficiency etc.)

At first glance, a PMO carb kit will cost $4000-$4200, and the ITB EFI kit $2700, although I would still need programmable ignition etc. I do have MSD ignition already, but I'm not sure it's suitable for this application. I guess I could use the motronic that came with the 3.2 like I have read some have done. Is the ITB EFI route actually cheaper than carbs?

Any input on the pro's/cons of PMO ITBs EFI vs. carbs would really help. Things like ease of instillation, maintenance, perormance...

I'm getting my PMO EFI kit & TEM-gt (with a cam-sensor, full sequential mode). The project will start in November.

Got them from Clewett Engineering:Induction systems : Clewett Engineering, The complete solution for ignition & fuel injection

Check their Tech Tip, Installation and Link section.

Talk to Richard at C.E., very nice guy and seem to be the only distributor of the PMO EFI equipment.

I resuscitated this older thread a couple week ago: My PMO ITB Project

The finish product will look like this;

Ford EDIS ignition is simple with MegaSquirt and is programmable through it. It is dirt cheap too.

Personally, I would rather have more midrange torque as you would get with this setup.

Hi - I am fairly new to this forum & not familiar with past EFI projects.
This one sure looks like the Ducks Guts.

Please, can someone point me the relevant thread &/or web address for this?

I have a 78 3Ltr SC which is running happily enough - but my good friend/childhood buddy/rival has a hot 3.2 & I need to keep up!

What a great encouraging resource this site is.

I think you should have a look at the 'Dzug' itb efi kit they sell.
Do a search for dzug and you'll find them here on pelican.

It looks really good and seems very cheap for a complete kit.
