Back side of taillight seal
The inside of my tail light housing is pretty crusty where the wire are. I know the rubber down tube is missing (well I have a couple new ones in my parts bin but, um....) but the flexible caulk stuff on the rear metal pan is less than a perfect seal.
What is this stuff? What can I use if it's unobtanium? |

Try Eastwood, they have a lot of good restoration products.

I used butyl rope. Can be purchased at any glass company that does windshields.

Bought the rope at NAPA. $15 for 15 feet. 5/16ths diameter. Glass companies (the one I went to) use a newer technology that heats up glue to 200 degrees F in a special gun. Guy said go to the non-big box auto parts stores.
Thanks! Stuff is great. ![]() ![]() |

Glad that worked. It also works great for door membranes. Just stretch it out thin.
