Approx Weight of SC Decklid?
Hi,
Anyone one know the approximate weight of a standard SC engine decklid with no tail or grill? I'm trying to calculate the shipping cost to have one sent to me here in Australia. I cannot weigh mine as it is glass fibre with a whale tail. Thanks to all that reply. Cheers Bill

I have one that is completely stripped of everything and I'd say it was 10-12 lbs, (just compared it to a 10 lb dumbell in one hand, decklid in the other) double that with the hinges and grille etc.
Add the box and lots of padding for a safe trip across the pond and go for 20 lbs. (10 kilos) Check some of the weight reduction threads, they may have exact numbers for you.

I just bought one on eBay in Victoria but have to arrange a courier to pick it up. Sorry if my post read like I was buying in USA.a Rob H, No Idea what it weighs as it is still attached to the car and havn't decided if I will sell it or not. My Carrera 3.0 was tail less from new so am going to return it to original and see how i like that look. I probably won't remove my whale tail until the new one is ready to fit unless I do a trial fit before paint. I'm also unsure if the grill from my F/G tail will fit the new lid either so may have to find a new grill as well. I'll call you if I decide to sell it on. Thanks Bill
