930 wrenches in Atlanta

thinking ahead. who in Atlanta actually works on 930s? i know the are a lot of good shops, but which one actually is known to be good at diagnosing (not throwing parts at it) and working on 930s?

Try Franz Blam in Tucker. Been there for 30 years.

Good Luck

Charles - Try Ryland Mills in Marietta-he's an old Brumos tech - (770) 951-9305

I think Franz is more of a performance guy & Ryland might be better for diagnostics.

Hey Charles,

Bummer about the 930 still not running despite the recent CDI test. In my many years of Porsche ownership here I probably have used them all in town and I have always felt that the better shop is Franz Blam off Lawrenceville Highway in Tucker. Franz still manages the place and his expertise over the decades, especially in preparation of high performance race cars (he was building race engines for years), should provide you the troubleshooting and repairs you would need. He is no stranger to turbos.

Charles - Nobody can dispute Franz's reputation or the quality of his work- among other things in his illustrious career he was the crew chief on the old Bob Hagestad / Hurley Haywood 934.5 that was at Monterey a couple of weeks ago -just thought Ryland was close by & offered a good option.

Turbo Cab is gone & the tv show is moving slow but I'm hanging in there.

You could also try RWL Imports on Edgewood Ave.

Bob Lane has been in business there for over 32 years and specializes in air-cooled. His personal collection includes a 930 also.

His number is 404-588-1624

Yep---sometimes that says it all--even though most of the time I actually DO "g-a-f".....

Not to hijack the thread or anything but do any of you GA guys know a good place to get leather sport seats recovered? Mine are split and I'm not quite ready to drop the $ for OE covers....

Bob I may go if i can get up early enough andy if the weather is decent. I haven't been the past several months.
