Saw 32 Ford Roadster with a Ferrari V-12 on board once a few years back, at the Beverly Hills concours. Metal-gated shifter and all; it was pretty cool. Then again, Bill Harrah put a Ferrari V12 in Jeep Wagoneer to use on the road between Reno & Vegas as I heard.... Different strokes for ......., I always say....

John... Man when you jump in you go with both feet! Sounds like an interetsing idea, and if anyone can do it, I bet you could! While your at it, replace the suspension with some air springs, and you can have your own demo vehicle for work!!! Enjoy! Chuck

I really enjoy these threads, there are certainly no shortage of opinions and I have mine. In a never ending quest for performance I've built f6's and have done the v8 swap. My personal belief is that a 914 or 944 make a better canidate for engine transplants. Horsepower is not ethnic though, and American Iron is a much better value. Any car is a series of compromises, if this wasn't the case we wouldn't be modifying these vehicles, larger tires, bigger brakes, stiffer suspension, more horsepower. Each change you make identifies the next weakest componet, or creates its own issues. Done right you can end up with a car that performs better than what the factory offers, done wrong its a learning experience. My 914 with a 302 Chev is faster than our 930, is more predicatable through corners, in almost every performance catagory except braking the 914 excels. That said I drive 930 90% of the time, I like the way it sounds. Do what ever floats your boat, just do it well.
