Just when you think you've done it all right...

A good friend of mine just finished installation of his handmade RUF-like 964 body-kit on his beautifull 77' 930....all done in glassfiber, much lighter than original...

Picures:

What happends next? Well, a 23-yr old girl gets "blinded by the sun" and hits him head-on while he was standing still in his own lane (!!). She just weered to the left and climbed onto his fender with her Mazda :-(

I hope he'll be able to repair it...such a pity, thinking about all hours he spent on making the spoilers look perfectly right, installing new things and generally working his butt off to make it what it was... :-(

I know the feeling, mine got stolen 6 days after i got it. It was found on a field. You could se that it was white if you really tried hard.

5 months in the shop, arguing with the insurance company etc.

Hope your friend will have the car back on the road soon.

I know the feeling too!

My ex business partner wrecked our jointly owned 3.2 cab by spinning and hitting a toll booth at speed. After months in the body shop I collected it and we used it to go to a restaurant with an important client the same evening. It got creamed again in the restaurant carpark by a woman in a monster SUV who then tried to get away.

I bought an 86 930 and spent a week putting new brakes and wheels and tires. Drove it to work the first time on A Friday. After work this Gal in her SUV puled out in front of me. I hit her in the rear wheel HARD!! all most put her on her side $8500 to fix the car and $9300 to fix me (Lost wages and all that stuff)I did wind up with a real nice complete repaint. I told her If you went searching you couldn't find a more expensive car to fix to pull out in front of.

I would be REALLY pissed if someone did that to my 911

Sorry to see those pictures. I hope for your friend that he will have his car fully repaired.

My dad had his left front fender crushed on his Volvo when it was parked at Bauhaus. No note under the window wiper, just a huge dent. Thanks a lot

Ooooooh No! Huge bummer!!

I still have "new owners paranoia" that something will happen to it. My husband just says..."if something happens...it happens and we'll deal with it then." (I have not reached that calm attitude myself).

Sorry about your friends car. I also know the feeling. A couple of weeks after I bought my car a lady in an SUV rear ended me while I was sitting at a stop sign. She was late for her daughters school function and in a big hurry. Lukily the damage was primarily between the quarter panels. It was repaired with no signs of damage or paint blending. I even got a good deal on an RSA tail and front spoiler from the repair shop so some good did come of it.

Women drivers....and their SUV's.
sorry Sarah. You don't have an SUV do you?
