Replacing Plastic CIS Lines with Late Metal Lines

Searched the forum and was wondering if anyone has replaced the plastic black injector lines to the later metal ones from a SC, etc. The metal looks the way to go and would like to go this route if anyone else has done it. Let me know, Thanks.

You can buy new factory cohline ones for about $120 a set from gowestyautoparts.com
Wayne doesn't seem to have both sides available.

I have replaced the black plastic lines on my 2.7 (long gone) with later, metal lines from an SC. Worked great.

regards,
Al

Once again, thanks to all who responded. I really appreciate it. I will check the availability of the metal lines as I am paranoid of the 35-year-old lines, or will replace with new.

The thing is you still have a rubber/plastic line to deal with even with the metal lines. The line for the WUR is half metal and half rubber, and is of course "NLA." I have a set of metal lines I was going to swap but in the end I just did a new set of plastic because of the WUR. But either way you want to go.

Thanks, great advice. I just want to go safe. I looked at the price of the plastic and it's not too bad - the 4-6 cylinder are about $12 more a piece, but for $150 for the set it's great insurance (and piece of mind).

Porsche Crest

I have just recently started doing CIS systems after so many requests for the Polyamid tunnel lines. Been doing Metric Fuel & Oil Hoses for the other Porsche models for many years.

Presently, I make up the Polyamid injector lines and charge $20 ea w new fittings. The combined Fuel Filter to Fuel Head to WU reg assy must be done on a fixture and on your fittings. For this I charge $50 with the correct Polyamid lines.

I also sell this Polyamid line in bulk, as well as any individual Metric fittings anyone may need.

For this or other Porsche lines or hoses, please email me. I would be happy to help.
