A/C delete question
I searched up and down this forum but couldn't find much about A/C delete. So before I get started on mine, I want to clear a few things up.
First, I plan on removing the compressor, condensers and the other main components but not the lines. How do I keep dirt and grime from getting into those hoses once the equipment has been removed? Second, anything else I should know? Is there a thread for this? As always, thanks for the help! -Martin

If this is for your '87, I'm not sure how much is different from my '77, but you may want to convert the vents that were previously A/C only, to now carry fresh air as a factory non-A/C car would be plumbed. I have a thread on this topic:
Retrofitting non-A/C ventilation ducts

If your removing everything except the lines you can just put vaccum caps on the lines. When i did mine i figured it was easy enough to just pull all of it and wrap it up neatly and put it all in a box if i (or next owner) want to return it to an ac car.

Those lines are heavy, and at least in the case of my '84, aren't worth a darn for keeping the refrigerant in the system. Removing them was a bit of a PIA, but I'm glad I did it.

Vacuum caps on the lines, check. Good tip, Frank. I think the center vents on my 87 are indeed A/C only. Since I'm now armed with a trusty Bentley manual this job is within my reach. Thanks guys!
