Mike Marshall, look what I found.....

Mike, There is a thread on the Open Track Challenge over on the Rennlist racing board. I was checking out the pics, and came across this picture. Now who you reckon owns that car?

Yeah, it looks like he said "Well, I'm off the track and the car is dirty, may as well do some donuts"

Mike, is that pretty much what happened?

Tom

Does not look like he lost any positions while having fun either!

A couple of weeks ago in one of the world ralley race, the leader did the same thing going around a hair pin. MM probably just wanted to do the same thing and give the crowd a little showboating.

actually......looking closely at these pics it looks as if he never stopped his forward momentum (see how the dust is always behind the car). if that's the case i say job well done getting it under control.

Wow, that's impressive. I did a similar thing in that same corner, running the track in the opposite direction. But that obviously wasn't Mike, it was his OTC *codriver*.

Oh MY! Well, I did make the offer that Mike could drive an "orig-anal" '72 S when he's up here. The offfer still stands...I just hope THAT doesn't happen...

LOL, Man you can't get away with anything around here. Would you believe that was my Co-driver?

Okay, I admit it, it was me. The track is Thunderhill and that's the last turn before the front straight. I was trying to get some style points and thought a few donuts would win the judges over Actually, I got alittle excited trying to make a fast run onto the straight and didnt quite make it. Other then the inside of the car being alittle more dirty, the car was no worse for the wear.

After looking at the picture again, I dont know if that is Thunderhill or Buttonwillow. After doing it at Thunderhill, I did the same thing again at Buttonwillow the next day. Man I suck.

That's Buttonwillow. And I still say it's spectacular.

Definately Buttonwillow. No surrounding hills, and you can see a semi on the I5 in the background of the biggest picture.

Sometimes you end up spinning to find out how fast you can go. No harm in that as long as there's enough run-off room. The other "Mike" (Schumacher) does this routinely in F1 practice w/o regard to runoff room.

Mike, I dare say you normally negotiate that corner faster than I many of us would contemplate attempting. Bravo.

Mike was lapping that course four seconds faster than me, that day. With a 3.2.
