89 Targa AC stopped

I recently replaced the alternator in this car...within the last month and after getting it fired up and running for about 10 miles the alt light came on. I read the manual and it said to check the tension on the belt...needed to be 1/4 to 1/2 inch of deflection at the mid point of the belt. I measured then tightened slightly to 1/4 inch deflection. I ran the car and the light remained on as I made a short trip of about 15 miles r/t. The car sat for a few days and I drove it again today on the same round trip and the alt light was not illuminated so I thought I was in the clear. Got home did some work and went to drive it again...it fired right up...and now the AC won't come on? All electrical accesories are working fine..but now no AC comes on...not even the fan. I don't believe much in coincidences...Any words of wisdom? Additionally, my AC system has been updated to Griffiths dual rear fender condensors and fans etc. Any words of wisdom?

Well the 2 condensers surely did not kill your alternator.. lol, but
I'm sure we can help you trouble shoot the ac quickly.
Just drop us a PM and we'll help you along the AC issue.

In the mean time if tightening the alt belt does not help your charging problem it might be time to do a battery test and an alternator charging test; many auto parts stores will check it for free.
I usually keep one of these around, they come in handy:

There are many other models out there you can buy, this particular unit
has a pivoting head.
