trunk release handle broke

on my 1973 911e, the trunk handle release broke. i really didnt have time to really look at it. but it seemed to break where the cable attaches. my question is how do i fix it?? feels like there is a couple of bolts on the bottom inside of the dash where the handles mounts. good thing the trunk lid want closed completely. any help would be great.

I assume that you have the trunk open. Detach wire from latch. It runs in a tube. Just pull it out one end or the other. Put in new one and attach. If you are lucky the screw at the latch may have become loose and the wire came out giving you the impression that it broke. If that is the case just reattach and tighten screw.

Cable available from pelican $10. It may only come out through the cabin.
