Update on the no start problem, actually the doggone problem...
Finally got the problem fixed with the help of my wrench. The problem turned out to be two fold... 1. Had a bad speed sensor on the flywheel. Actually the cable passed the passive test, that being measuring the resistance. Was getting the proper ~1k ohm resistance, which led me to believe that it was okay. But as I learned, that is a static test... the dynamic test noted that it was outputting the incorrect voltage feeding into the dme ignition circuitry. 2. The computer did have a cracked solder on one of the power transistors. I did an inspection of the 2 computer boards, and even though I noted the tall soldered transistor post looked marginal, I believed it was good. A solder reflow corrected that. So, all in all, my carrera is back running as it should, I forgot the significant effect of accelerator, and the corners ... many thanks to Jerry at International Motors in Deep Creek, VA. ... and many thanks to all of the pelican fanatics, may yours run smooth and long. |
