Not running on 6?
Have started up the car after 3 years of downtime.
Did a few miles but I have a feeling that it's running on less than 6 cylinders. From low revs in 2nd or 3rd there's a bit of bucking for a couple 100 rpms then it smooths out. Idle is fine if maybe a bit high at around 1k. I could be wrong since it's been such a long time but the power doesn't feel full. Through the these 3 drives that I've been on though it has gotten steadily better. So today, I warmed it up, left it running on idle and pulled the plug connectors one at a time. All except 3 and 6 have a noticeable decrease in the revs when pulled. 3 and 6 make no difference at all even all the way out. When I touch the connectors to the engine there is a spark so that part seems to be ok. Before I go and pull the plugs, is this evidence enough that I am running on 4? Does running on less cylinders affect the engine negatively in any way?

Your signature reads " Webers 40IDA".
If RPMs don't change when you pull plugs 3 & 6 but you have spark to these plugs, AND it seems to get better with driving........ my guess would be sticky carbs. Did you run any cleaner thru them after sitting for so long ? Just a thought.

Check for spark by grounding the wire with another plug on it. Check the suspect plugs, consider fresh gas with Techron added in.
Drive the pee outta it.

Forgot to say that I also measured the air flow on all of them and 3 and 6 had a bit less pull while the other 4 were equal.

Start the car from cold and get underneath and carefully check the temperature of each extractor pipe if you can get to them. Cold pipe = no fire. (Probably blocked carb jets and transition slots.)

All I needed to do was drive it as you guys said. Took it for a long drive yesterday and half way through it had cleaned up and it's now pulling beautifully again. What a thrill!
Also put in some STP injector cleaner for good measure. Thanks guys.
