A barn find, need some help.

my friend found this car and was asking me if it's worth something. The owner is saying it's a 1966. Vin is 302317. Thank you.

Yup, its worth something. An interesting early car. Some weirdness with the fiberglass parts, but overall doesn't look messed with too badly. Everything depends on condition, which is impossible to tell from these photos. Motor looks like its from something else, MFI 2.2 maybe? That could also be interesting.

1965

Red Book says it is a 1965, manufactured between January and July, 1965.

Do you know the engine number?

I don't know about value. If the engine matches then you've moved into the major leagues.

will see the car tomorrow, I will check the engine number as well. I'll post more pictures when I see the car in person. Any general idea on value if engine is matching?

Depends on how extensive the rust is.

Again, I'm NOT buying the car, I'm trying to help my neighbor to make a decision. A $3000 one. looks like the car is a rust bucket with an aftermarket sunroof!!!

A 65 for $3K....yes it's worth it. As mentioned check the serial number of the engine. As there are other "upgrades" that have been done I'd suspect the engine might not be original.

Looks like it was originally slate gray, no aluminum trim around the the wood dash, engine appears to be mech injection, sounds like a deal at $7.500, but be ready to spend $$$$ to make it right.
