934 Wheel and Tire Dilemma

I have just acquired a 930 with a 934 like motor. I am therefore going to make the car look more like a 934. I have the arches and valance on the way and hence I need to fill the arches with some wheels and tires. Original 934 wheels were 16" but as you know road rubber is no longer easily avialable for 16" wheels anymore. I am therefore looking for recommendations for wheels and tires that resemble the original gold centered BBSs? I am tending towards some somewhat complex 3 peice wheel where the center can be painted gold, either 17" or 18". The widths I am thinking should be 10" and 12", front rear width respectively. The car are at the moment has 17" HRE "Fuch" wheels which will be for sale/trade shortly.

Thanks Tim

Hi Tim,
I bought these Kinesis K27 (see link) for my wide 914 project and will not be needing them now. I'll sell for what I paid for them $1550 for the set (plus shipping). You could paint the centers gold. I also have a few 7.5" inner halves I could sell to make a 12" wheel, but you may have to use a spacer (0.5"-1" probably).

Kinesis K27 Wheels 17" x 10"

Thanks,

17" HRE Fuchs Sizes

The HRE "Fuch" sizes are estimated as the tires are still in place. The front is around 9" with a 5.25" offset and the rears are 11.25" in width with a 7.25" offset. I will be selling them shortly without tires on eBay.

If you change your mind on the 16" BBS wheels, I have a set, I'd be willing to sell. I don't have a project car for it right now so they are just sitting around.

Turbo offset. 934 style
BBS 16"x10" and 16"x12

You might want to get the centers refinished, but they are very usable now. They just have a race patina on them...

Where did you get the idea that the motor pictured is "934 like"?
That looks like a 930 engine with a Carrera intake and EFI.

I seem to remember this car for sale on the bay. I believe that it has 934 headers. Look at the turbo placement - right of center.

Ah - I see the intercooler inlet pipe is on the passenger's side. Now you need one of those $20,000 fans on top and some air/water intercoolers. This could get expensive.
