My Steering Rant for the day...

So my wheel began to feel a bit shakey over the past few drives. And when I parked the car this morning, I pulled out the key and rotated the wheel to the lock position. It locked, but it also pivoted! Doh!!!

Looks like I'll be ordering the Leland solution.

I read through the thread and I am praying that the install will be as easy as everyone has indicated.

I swear that the little things on this car will keep me busy for the rest of my life.

OK. Rant over.

Thanks for listening.

All good. I felt like that the first six years of ownership. It took me that long to get my car respectable.

How long have you had yours?

Anything that can be fixed for less than $200 in parts is money well spent for buying some time to unwind in the company of a car that I have come to enjoy a little more almost each day of ownership.

If it costs more than $200 in parts.... that is a different story.

If you want to minimize the grief of install, get yourself the wavey washer that's in the original thread. Mine looked good, but was bad. The steering wheel won't self center and at high speed it can be downright scarey to drive if that washer is bad. I played around filing the bushing for a long time, then just bit the bullet and ordered that washer. It fixed the problem and made a world of difference.
