MFI to Webers to EFI?

My car originally had MFI, but was converted to Webers before I got it. As a result, I don't know too much about how the MFI was set up, but I do still have the original throttle bodies from when it was injected. Is there an easy or turnkey path to get to EFI using the old throttle bodies and injection ports?

not easy but there is a Brazilian guy here who has done a really nice conversion that could be removable. He had to do it due to the large amount of alcohol in the fuel there. Why don't you go back to MFI? Once setup correctly it works great and the throttle response is the best.
Are the throttle bodies in good shape? do you have the MFI unit?

Ah! Forgot to mention that the PO rebuilt to 2.7, so the old pump isn't calibrated for the new build. As I understand it, the pump can be re-done, but going to EFI seems a more modern path.

Tiago's conversion is what lead me to think about this. I'm just wondering about adapting injectors to the old injector ports so that the spay pattern wouldn't be affected.

Retro-cool/DIY hi-butterfly

Greetings,
I am currently working on a slightly different configuration. I'm rebuilding my test engine (2.7), but should have this up and running in a month or two.

regards,
al

PS: Tiago's conversion is awesome...mad skillz

Currently there is no turn-key solution to your question. Can it be done. Yes. Pick your favorite engine management system (EMS) and then custom fab adapters for the MFI injector ports. You also have to add fuel rails, a new fuel pump, a vacuum system for MAP or TPS for alpha-N and a few other items to get this running.

Now Tiago's thread is brilliant. He has done something I have been working on for a few years. As you said, the engine displacement was changed on your motor. It is likely the might have been a cam change as well. In this type of example, the stock MFI systems will e a compromise somewhere in the rpm range unless there is a custom space cam or you are very good at adjusting the fuel deliver using the set screws (see Jeff Higgins' thread).

You raise a good question about injectors. If you put them in the MFI injector port how do you make sure the fuel sprays into the intake rather than the sidewalls of the port. In this case specific injector choice with a narrow cone angle is important. You do not want to puddle fuel on the sidewall. A disc style injector (DRI) is much better at staying clean and maintaining spray pattern. Additionally you can get long tip injectors with up to a 21mm tip (Seimens Deka) that will extend almost directly to the edge of the injector port.

I am trying to put together a system that will be as close to a hardware turn-key as possible.
