Phoenix Run II
Thought I would take a poll as to the best available date. We can go with the date the most people can show. Pavillions is noce but its to dang hot to sit around for a few hours. ( My opinion )
I suggest a 10:30 am leave time from Waffle house on I17 and Bell Road, head north to Sedona, have lunch at the hideaway, then the nice way home. Jerome, Cottonwood, Prescott...

RJ,
Voted for the 28/29th (wanted the last one but thought I would give Lee a break!) as I really do not like fighting the Sunday "lets all drive home to Phoenix after spending the weekend in the mountains" traffic! If we do it on a Saturday feel that the traffic would be a lot less... and the cops might be resting up for Sunday! Joe

I 100% agree on the Saturday thing. Do you want to take the lead on this ride and I will belly up for the next?

I'll be in NC end of June. I vote for 7/13, or later. Saturdays are best, o' course.
PS: I drive slow.

Pwd,
Watch the evening news or Weather (advertisment) channel and where you see the magenta colors in SW part of America... there we be! Come on down, no rain and nice clear blue skies... 350 days a year! No rain tans for us here... ![]() On a serious note, I would vote for almost any Saturday but the longer we wait, the warmer it will be... am going to be out of town this coming weekend, then no plans on any weekend the rest of the summer! Glad to head one of the functions up... as long as I get to control the duct tape! Since I am a newby to the Phx area would delegate the route and eats to someone who has been here longer if you do not mind... Joe

I'd like to get in on one of these but I have some issues to work out with my car before then and will need to bring a case of oil for the trip... I'm good for any of those days on the weekend.

I'm available every week in June. I'm also available in July, but it will be too damn hot for a day run in July.

Joe is it my understanding that July will be to HOT??? Wait it got to 107 in MAY. There should not be that much difference between 108 and 115 lol remember its a dry heat!
I figured a 10:30 leave time would be cool enough, only 95 by then, Then by the time we get back at 4-5 it should have cooled down to 105-110 NEWS FLASH!!!!!! The wife just informed me the mother in law will be coming on the 28th. SO I AM UP FOR THE 28.. ***ops sorry dear, yes dear, I will dear, yes I can hit this edit button right here.. no I was not serious....

OK... who voted for the last one???
I'm not going to be able to do a long, spirited drive with my daughter along so the last weekend in June is out for me. Tammy will know her July schedule in a week or so. I'll have to withhold my vote until then. |

What?!?!

I called McDonald's today and left a message for the parking coordinator telling them that www.pelicanparts.com members wanted parking for Sat June 29 for about 15-20 cars. I know, high estimate but if the Tucson and Yuma folks represent.... besides, remember the Viper pit we were stompin' around in? I wonder how many spots they requested? We had 9 or 10 rotate through last time so when we get a date lets do our best to make it. I'll keep you all in the loop when I hear back from them.
I voted for 7-13 but only about 60% sure if I can make it. How was the temperature on the drive Saturday?

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO jealous, I saw the pics from Phoenix run 1 and now I want to be there too. Those pics remind me of the weather in South Africa. siiiiiiggghh,
My sister lives in Phoenix and I think I will make a plan to visit sometime (hopefully there will be another run and a chance to meet some pelicanites) Anyway guys, have a good run whenever it is, please post pics of those gloriously sunny days and pcars ofcourse but most of all, run safe!! Cheers Jakes p.s. did I already say I am JEALOUS...

Don,
The temps were not a factor at all. It was pleasant and remember that I just moved here four months ago so am not really used to it yet. Jakes, Let us know when you are coming to visit and we will have to get together. Send your sister to our meeting at the Pavillions and we will get some pictures for her to send you as well! SA is a very beautiful place but Arizona is a bit more calm right now if you know what I mean. Have a good friend from the area who just moved his entire family out so that they have a future again... he is living in Switzerland now. Joe

It's very unlikely that Tammy will have weekends off next month. Set the date and I'll see what arrangements I can make.

What?!?!

OK
I called McDonalds and have not heard back yet. I'll try again today and will request July 13. I am pretty sure that I am going to Ontario Ca for the week of June 24th. Leave Sunday and back on Friday afternoon. I am going to contact Al Reed Polishing today and see if he can do my wheels while I'm there and not have to deal with shipping. If anyone needs something taken to the LA area or back from there let me know.
