Question Cab w/3.6 conversion on EBay

In looking at this car, two things come to mind:

1. This guy has spent a LOT of $$$$$ on this vehicle, and the workmanship appears to be pretty good.....

2. One would be taking a HUGE risk to pay large $$ for a car like this through an EBay kind of channel

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/ebayISAPI.dll?MfcISAPICommand=ViewItem&item=1835324880&indexURL=3&photoDisplayType=2

I would be very interesed in the critique of this car by other pelican heads - I find it interesting for some unexplainable reason....

I feel qualified to critique this car, since I have a 3.6L cab...

Questions/Comments
  • Why would the engine have new rings?
  • What cams and why?
  • Why does it have some aftermarket injection and not the Motronic?
  • The guy knows more about the stereo system than he does the engine!
  • Wow! Factory Posi!
  • Sadly, the 80's are over
  • I wonder how the did they tranny conversion
  • Does the Swiss gear package mean it stays in Neutral all the time?
  • That "complete oil cooler system" will be inadequate anywhere south of Portland.
  • Good luck getting that registered in California!

Other than that, it seems like their heart was in the right place, but I think they went a little too 'kustom kar' for me. Of course, someone might think the same of mine...

I wonder what the reserve is? It looks to be a nice job, but only if you want a cabriolet and are into modified 911s.

I have never seen the SDS injection he has on the 3.6. Anyone ever used it? I looked at their webpage at http://www.sdsefi.com/ and it looks interesting for doing a 3.6 swap into an older 911. Considerably cheaper than Electromotive or Haltech.

"Does the Swiss gear package mean it stays in Neutral all the time? "

That's very funny.
