Help Needed-Transmission Info For Mid Engine

Hi,

My son and I are trying to set up an 84 Carrera engine and transmission for a mid engine car.

Does anyone have info on how to adapt the shift linkage? Is there a way to convert the 915 transmission to a side shift setup?

We have read that you can turn the transmission upside down and use a pump to pump the gear oil.

Any help would be appreciated.

mspear13@aol.com

Thanks.

Mike

the porsche 914 was mid engined, you could possibly adapt the shifter set up from one of them.

That is a trip and I'm amazed that no one has brought up this before, looks to be like a very cool product.
Can you tell more about how it works, shifts, etc?

It's a great product. I had struggled for about a year with a hard linkage system made up of universal joints and rods ends - it never really worked and I was always adjusting it. It made the sandrail a real pain to drive. I came across the the cable shifter, dropped $550, installed it, adjusted it once and never looked back. I really made the shifting smooth and predictable. Totally bolt on with no transaxle mods.
