Headers for her
I am planing, for this winter,to install exhaust headers on my sleeping beauty. It is a 1976 coupe with a 2.7 l. Which oil lines will i have to replace in order to complete this project. Yes, i do know that i will loose my heating, but anyway i am used to cold weather in CANADA.Thanks.

Welcome fellow Canadian!
1) There are headers available that have heater boxes with them, so you don't lose your heat! BB (billy boat) makes them, and I believe Fabspeed might also. 2) On a 2.7L I think SSI heat exchangers would be a great upgrade going by my own research on the subject. Info here, along with the oil lines to update: Pelican Parts.com - SSI Stainless Steel Heat Exchangers 3) Get a good muffler to go along with it! ![]()

I second the vote for SSIs. I drove a '76 911 around for years with headers. Even in Alabama (where I lived at the time), the lack of heat was an adverse impact. Not only did long drives in temps below 10C or so chill me to the bone (it's amazing how cold you can get when you just sit there for hours), one of the biggest drawbacks was the lack of the ability to defrost the windshield.

![]() ![]() First, welcome to Pelican Parts. All of what you need is available new from our host. However, if you would consider used, I have a set of SSI's, the oil cross-under pipe (911 107 739 10) and the necessary hoses & a 2 in 2 out stock muffler available. Please email me if interested. Just go to my user name and pick "send email". Rather a large package to ship. Where are you located in Canada? Len ![]() |

Yes, they are equal length primaries.
SSIs are an excellent product, however the primaries are a bit small for anything over 3.0 - great heat too.

SSIs on my SC made her come alive! The heat, backdated of course, is incredible. I mean popcorn at your toes good!
Love my SSIs. Cheers, Craig_D
