Will Turbo Twist Wheels fit on my ´07 GT3?

I recently bought a 2007 997 GT3 and I am looking forward to take it to the track.

I am looking into options for track wheels, but before going the $$$$ way, I would like to consider a less expensive (free in my case) option. I have a set of spare 18" Turbo Twist wheels. Would those fit on the GT3 without the need of spacers?

I calculated the backspacing and outside clearance and it seems not to be a problem. But I am not sure if the brake calipers will clear properly.

Unfortunately, I have not received my moving yet (recently moved to Spain), so I can not test the Turbo Twist on the GT3, myself. And my moving will arrive only a couple of days before my first track event.

So has anyone tried thses wheels on a 997GT3? Anyone sees a potential problem in using them?

For reference, the specs on the stock and Turbo Twist wheels:

OEM GT3 wheels:

-Front: 8.5 x 19 ET53mm
-Rear: 12 x 19 ET68mm

Turbo Twist wheels:

-Front: 8 x 18 ET50mm
-Rear: 11 x 18 ET54mm

Thanks

here's where the outer edge of the lip sits compared to OEM GT3 wheels:
8ET50 is 3.35mm more inboard, ie a 3.35mm spacer would put it in the same place as oe
11ET54 sits 1.3mm more outboard

Thanks Bill.

Would I be able to use (safely on track) a 4mm spacer (I don´t think 3.5mm exist) with the stock wheel bolts?

Thansk again

Probably or you could live w/ an inset wheel

the rule of thumb for our 14mm bolt or stud is to have 14mm of engagement

I forget the thread pitch on our cars but for 1.25 that's 9 full turns, for 1.5 it's 7.5 turns

living with a 3.5mm inset wheel won't be a problem for me, but what I need to know is if the wheel will clear the brake calipers, which are larger than the ones on a original car which came with the Turbo Twists. As I mentioned, the problem is that I don't have the 18" Turbo Twist here in order to test fit.

Any idea if there might be a problem there? Do you know of anybody usding these wheels on a 997 GT3?

Thanks again
