(72 911 MFI) After just reading a post on covering heat exchanger outlets, i have a question that deals w\the hose that connects from the left heat exchanger to the thermostat housing. This is the hose that preheats the air before it reaches the air cleaner. I took this hole aperatus off about 2 yrs ago. Found that this only helped a little in the am so, bye, bye. Should i cover the outlet on that left exchanger?

Yes, it should be capped, as should the hole in the 'elbow' at the sheetmetal where the 25 mm hoses were attached.
If you removed the intake air preheater assembly, the hole where the 2" hose passed through the sheet metal should be taped, or otherwise be covered as well! ------------------ Warren Hall 1973 911S Targa 1992 Dodge Dakota 5.2 4X4 parts hauler |
