Post Missing after tune-up

After tuning up the car (valve adj, dist & cap, plugs, oil, filters) I took the car for a ride without any problems. After driving for about 15 minutes I hit the rev limiter and the car ran like the rev limiter was still cutting off fuel/ignition until I got back home. I thought I bent a valve the way the car was running. The next day I decided to check the plug wires, plugs, cap, rotor and found no problems. I started the car again and the problem was gone. Does the DME reset when the ignition is turned off or is there something else that might have happened?

Are you absolutely sure all the plug connectors are firmly pushed down on the plugs? The plugs are deep in the head, and it's easy to think the connector is in all the way. If you don't feel them snap right down, you can have a problem.
Also, the metal ferrule inside the Beru connector can be deformed, and is making poor contact.
