Does this part look OK?
Just got this in the mail from our host and is this normal? They go on the rear bumpers for most 911's. I spent extra in went with the genuine Porsche parts to make sure it was as close to original as possible. Did I get a dud or do they all look like this? I tried wiping it down with a wet cloth but no change. The part was in a sealed bag and was made in 2011. I have not gotten the other side yet so not sure what to do.
The ones that have been on the car for 23 years look much better. ![]() ![]()

Send those images to the parts department, they should be able to take care of you.

They come like that. Spray some WD40 on them

Agree - The new door/hood seals on my 81 and windshield/rear targa window seal were coated with that white stuff.
If it does not come off that is another issue but I think you are just freaking out needlessly. I do that a lot, so I know!

+another on the come that way. The talc is a protective coating so it doesn't stick to anything. As long as there aren't visible scratches, it should pretty up okay. I found that spritzing it with some of the "wet look" tire dressing had them sparkling. (I hope it's okay for the long term)

Clean it with rubber prep. and condition with a vinyl rubber care product. I like 303 Protectant.
That being said, I had to send back 2 of those last year with older production dates, both had very weird mold marks in them. Almost looked like they had been line grained with 40 grit sand paper. They were for Left Rear in my case. Porsche swapped them out no problem. Cooper |

Out of all the products mentioned, I would trust this one the most.

Thanks for the tips guys. I will wipe down with some 303 to see if it gets better. Still waiting on the other side to arrive to see how it looks.
