Dang! Breathing the paint body filler dust must have given me dementia - I have a flippin' spec book but didn't look.

Thanks.

Maybe this is an appropriate place to ask a fuse question. When I recently installed my Sucro relays I became aware of how aged my fuses had become on my '76. Although they all function, the filaments are nearly black and many are stuck to the terminals and had to be peeled off, ripping some. Should they all be replaced? Are the Buss glass replacements recommended rather than the Bosch exposed filament type?

Thanks, Jim -- too bad there aren't repro's of those labels...

Howard, there were earlier threads on the old fuses. I'd replace all of them. Also, you can clean the contacts with chemicals made by Caig or others - go to an electronics supply store and talk to them. You might need fine emory paper on some of the contacts. Some people have tossed the whole thing and gone to modern fuse blocks that use the blade type fuses that new cars use.

Randy

I took some photos of the original fuse box on my '73.5 as part of my RSR clone conversion. I found them helpful along with the wiring diagram. Hope they will help you as well.

Do standard glass fuses work to replace these?

The "standard" glass fuses will not fit the electrical connections on the fuse box poles.

You need to used the bullet type fuse

Replacement fuse panels

If someone can give me an accurate measurement between the top and bottom mounting holes for the 1973/1973 1/2 fuse panels, I will attempt to build an ATO
style panel for these cars. From the pictures, it appears that the mounting screws
are located between the fuse mounts which will make it a bit tight to get more than
18 fuses on the new panel. However, with the measurements, I will see what I can
do. I have had a number of inquiries about panels for these cars, but have not had
access to one to get the info.

Hmm... I'm guessing local stores don't sell these. My cigarrette lighter died... need to check the fuse among other things. Guess I can just get an inline fuse holder as an interim solution.

Here ya go.

Fuse box mounting tabs accept speed nuts, so there is some room for adjustment. The 4 holes on the left are for the relay mountings.

BTW, these mountings should work for all 911 from '69 through '73.
