1986 Cab build dates

Hi ...I am looking for 1986 Cab production numbers. Also if you happen to own one would you mind posting your build date and your production number- That's the last 5 numbers of your VIN.

I understand the N/American run is from 70001 to 71936 ...Mine is 71039. I am trying to get an approximate date what the build date was by comparing others production and build date's. - Thanks in advance.

I have such a car however I am traveling on business until late Thursday.
I can ask my wife to take a picture and I'll post the last digits of the VIN.

My '86 Cab has a build date of 04/86 and the number is 71212.

Thanks Autoban... Your number of 71212 minus 71039 means that your machine was the 173 car off the line after mine. That means my build date could very well be a 03 or a 02 or maybe even sometime late 1985? - My VIN # has a 'G' for the year which is 1986

I was looking on the web and found two VIN's that had build date's of 08 and 11 of 1986, yet their VIN's had an 'H' for the year which is '87. So they obviously were 1987 models built in one case on 08-86. Maybe if I get a few more numbers I just may be able to get close if not thee date eh. I wonder how many Cabs they were building a month?

Last digits of the VIN are 71371.
I'll get the manufacturing date shortly.

Thanks Giles... That means that your car was built 159th after Autoban's

For rough figuring, being there were +/- 1985 Cabs for '86... When divided by 12 months it would appear that they averaged 161+ vehicles a month.

Your build month will be interesting. I figure your build date may be 05.

More info. My car came with some import docs and my wife sent me some details.
"on the little green "passport" papers it has the date of 30 Mai 86 on the front.....ship date is june 23 1986".
I'll have to wait until I get home to find the build date.

Again, thanks for your effort Giles...Now I will have more time to take wagers on the build date eh -> Maybe change my handle to 'bookie'.

Hello '86 Cab owners...I was just sent another VIN + build date.
It is 70371 and was built in 10/85

The picture that is starting to appear seems to imply that they were building about 160+/- Cabs for N/America per month. As we get more info from other Cab owners we will soon find out ay.

Check the wiring harness going into your speedo.
