Open end factory Porsche alloy lug nuts (Machined)
Anyone machine the tops off their alloy lug nuts? I read this can be done to convert them to open end lug nuts for extended studs.
I have a bunch of extras and this sounds like it could be a weigh savings over the steel open ended lug nuts. Any one know of a machine shop that has done this? LA Ca ? ![]()

I've done them with a grinder. Seemed to work fine.

Some places are great areas to shave weight...lug nuts, not so much. I am thinking the factory had the alloy nut designed in that fashion for a reason other than pure esthetics.
I've pulled lots of weight off of my 911 but added steel LN's. |
