Question Ignition switch removal - HELP!

How do I remove the ignition switch from the dash on my '76 2.7S?

I've drilled out the 2 shear bolts.
There are still 2 pop-rivets left but I think these attach the mounting plate to the dash only.

I can't figure out how to remove the steering lock.
It seems this is stopping the switch from being drawn out backwards from the dash.
I've undone the 13mm hex nut on the steering column but that hasn't realeased the locking bar.

Any clues?

Thanks,
Jon

I had the same problem, that 13mm hex nut is a lock nut on a hex key setscrew. I think it is 4mm. release that and it should fall out in your hand.

Thanks to Bob@pelicanparts for helping me.

the pop rivets need to be drilled out too. the plate stays in the hole. loosen the set screw after the locknut is loosened. don't take it all the way out. hard to get it started again due to it's position.
