vent lines in engine bay mounted to breathers
Is there any benefit or reason to connect the 2 vent lines that enter the engine bay (on the lower driver's side) to breathers instead of the airbox?
This weekend I saw a very nicely turned out '72 911T with MFI that had breathers mounted. They looked nice but I didn't ask why this was. Thoughts?

hmmm 21 views and no responses -- must be as stumped as I am.
I am asking the question because I have 2 vent lines that are broken and mighty dirty. I am in the process of cleaning up my engine bay and want to replace those lines (and all others). Initially I had thought braided metal lines but seems cost prohibitive and needless. Then I came across this 72 911T just like mine with a really nicely cleaned motor -- metal lines and these odd breathers. The guy was kind of jerk and I didn't want to inflate his ego any more by asking for some education. Any way - I'd love to see some pictures of nice clean motors with MFI -- or cleaned and/or custom line jobs. Carbs look so nice and have room to shine...MFI doesn't seem to have this luxury. Maybe there are other air boxes available? Thoughts?
