I think I have a throttle spring missing...
Yesterday, looking at the parts diagram, I realized my car (CIS) doesn't have the throttle spring that sits on top of the engine near the back (by the the throttle linkage support).
Trouble is, looking at the diagram, I can't really understand where the spring connects to. Can anyone post a pic ? thanks |

I thought this was something you tell the cops on the side of the road.

Here is a picture of the spring on my 78 . Spring attaches to arm on bellcrank and to a tab on the underneath of intake runner # 2 cylinder.

The missing one is that which attaches to the bellcrank. I wasnt understanding where it would attach ob the other end.
PS - actually the top spring did come loose at the entrance to a junction. You can imagine... That's when i realized the other one was missing ! |

Only because the picture was taken right after the motor was out of the car and cleaned up. After the motor has been back in the car, there is no way to take a picture from that vantage point, with a flash.
My motor was that clean when it was out... then it went back in.

I've seen and driven the car in question and the engine looks just like the photo a year later. Perhaps your results vary?

Here's the spring..
From a different angle.. You can see the lug on the intake runner.. On a more realistically (un)clean engine ![]() Note the worn out bellcrank bushings! ![]()
