Still won't run but there's hope
Ok guys wish me luck,
I just got off the phone with the shop. I have no airleaks and the fuel pump is working like a champ with volume and pressure. Pressure regulators are working okay too. The injectors are pulsing and there's plenty of spark. They can't get it to run on it's own but if they feed it fuel through the airbox they can keep it running. The only thing so far that's out of whack is the specs on the airflow meter, especially when the flap is in the idle position. All the readings were extremely low. He pull the module off the bottom of the airmeter and low and behold there was some oil and moisture in it. He said he cleaned it out and the readings all improved but were still way low. We've ordered another airflow meter and it'll be there tomorrow so we should know then. I started to replcae that myself before it went to the shop but didn't. I don't feel too bad about my ability to trace the problem, thanks to some input from you guys. I'll post again tomorrow when the airflow meter is in. Dan O '84 3.2 Carrera |

Hopefully that's it. You can always test the idea by disconnecting the airflow meter and trying to start to car the see if the symptoms are the same. Kinda tough when it won't run at all though.
A new airflow meter is not a bad idea anyway. They ain't cheap, and I had to replace mine May 2001, but afterward, the car definitely quit running so rich. In my case, it failed the continuity checks given by Bentley but it also failed emissions. Afterward, the car passed emissions with fly colors.
